Topic 24th November 2022 -- "Abstract Watercolour Landscape"

Our completed artwork for this topic can be found   ----HERE--- From Maxine ....     Making landscapes with credit card and watercolour is something that I have done in the past and a technique that is lovely. Maggie mentioned it to me when I came last time. I've attached two rather poor photos of two images I made a long time ago which were made using credit cards. I also found some good videos which people may like to see in advance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7pNAuydwAg  This is a female artist I think - she wets the paper first for a real wet in wet technique https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiNh_6k2m0g  This Frank Walters - also approaches in a similar vein and maybe the artist Maggie saw. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-Zq16Mt38o  This is an American artist, Debra Lyn Rosenbach, who takes the technique a little further - Her great piece of advice is to bring an old towel to protect the table and absorb the water - I think this is a very good idea! Strong watercolour paper, is best for this - or stretched paper on board - ideally two or three pieces as there will be drying time!
