About Us
The origin of our group was as daytime adult education in a
classroom at Welland Park School in the late 1990's. When the
school pupil numbers increased a new venue had to be found. The
group tutor, at that time, was local professional artist Brian
Taylor. Brian booked Wilbarston Village Hall and within a year,
he decided to set up his own privately run art group continuing
to use Wilbarston as his base. It was a 2 hour Watercolour Group
in the morning and a Mixed media group in the afternoon. The group became a self help group a few years ago when Brian retired. Our members now enjoy a 3hr session where we each follow our own media preferences including watercolour, acrylic, pastels, pencil drawing and oils. We have the hall for an additional half hour after each session where a number of the members choose to have lunch together, making use of the excellent kitchen facilities provided in the hall. Our group leader and administrator is Rosemary Clegg who has been with the group since it started and is the main point of contact for anyone interested in joining our group. |
